I walked the 500 mile Camino de Santiago de Compostela across Spain, a soul journey. Compostela means "field of stars" and is often used to refer to the Milky Way. Following this walking soul journey I returned home and became part of the Red Madonna painting soul journey. The two experiences meshed together beautifully and this painting was the outcome. I named it "She Walks Along the Milky Way" to reflect the melding of these two journeys. The title also comes from lyrics in the song "Drops of Jupiter" which describes a mother's "soul vacation." So many threads came together to take shape in this painting.
